JOB ANNOUNCEMENT CIRCUIT COURT FOR PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY POSITION TITLE: Adult Drug Court Community Supervision Specialist (Full-time with benefits) GRADE: Grade 21, Administrative Assistant II ANNUAL SALARY: $56,000-$66,000 (Negotiable, based on education and work experience) LOCATION: Adult Drug Court, Problem Solving Court Division, Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Upper Marlboro, Maryland TYPICAL DUTIES: The incumbent, under the supervision of the Adult Drug Court Coordinator, is responsible for assessing a participant’s level of risk to public safety in order to establish individual plans for supervision. Connects participants with various community resources and communicates court dates and other important treatment information; prepares reports for Court hearings and presents findings in Court when required; ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to for participants utilizing electronic monitoring equipment (GPS, voice recognition, and alcohol monitoring systems); performs urinalysis and mouth swab drug testing according to program requirements; accesses and inputs data into multiple database systems to ensure critical statistical information and monitoring information are accurately captured; and interprets information from within the inmate accounting systems and other criminal justice systems at the Local, State, and Federal levels when required. Hours may vary so must be flexible. No weekend hours required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in public or court administration, social work, psychology, criminal justice, business management, behavior management, public health, sociology, corrections or related field, supplemented by two (2) years’ experience in case management-field work or experience working in an environment dealing with adults in the areas of addiction, treatment, monitoring or counseling. Have knowledge to administer the collection of urine samples at Community Based Supervision sites to ensure all collection and chain of custody practices and procedures are followed. Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities, take initiative, as well as be multitaskoriented, and adaptable. Must have attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using proper grammar, syntax and spelling. Possess effective presentation skills and be comfortable developing and making speaking presentations before various audiences. Have competent computer skills with MS Office to include PowerPoint and Access. Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of judgement, tact, diplomacy, and competence when dealing with others. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
