To All F.O.P. Lodge 89 Members,
Well it is finally over! After twenty-one years of service, I am now officially retired. I have had a very fulfilling career; and, as this chapter closes, I am extremely appreciative to all of you. I am thankful for the confidence and trust you have had in me all these years. You have given me the privilege of serving as your President. It is an honor I have not taken lightly and one that I will forever cherish and hold dear to my heart.
I ask that you all afford President Dean Jones, 1st Vice President John “Zeek” Teletchea, and 2nd Vice President Angelo Consoli the same confidence and unwavering support. We are in good hands and I, like my predecessors, have the utmost confidence in their ability to continue to grow the image and reputation of F.O.P. Lodge 89 as one of the premier labor organizations in the country. It would be too easy to accidentally leave out someone if I were to start naming and thanking individuals. So as not to offend anyone, I will simply and humbly say to everyone….. “THANK YOU!” You are all my family; and, I am happy to call each of you my brothers and sisters.
In closing, I will not be far. I am simply a phone call away if you need me. I am proud to have been able to call myself a Prince George’s County Police Officer. I am even more proud to have been able to call myself President of Fraternal Order of Police, Prince George’s County, Lodge 89.
To each of you... Be Safe! Take care of one another! And, my thoughts, prayers, and love are with you and your family always! Happy New Year!
Fraternally, Ismael “Vince” Canales Immediate Past President
