Immediate Action needed Schumer calling HR 82 to the floor for a vote today!!

Cloture Vote on H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act – TODAY!

This afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has called a cloture vote on H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act. While we anticipate strong Democratic support, we need a total of 60 votes to achieve cloture and advance the bill to a floor vote.

Time is of the essence. Every moment counts.

It is IMPERATIVE that every State Lodge takes immediate action:

Contact Your Senators NOW: (Phone list attached)

Politely but firmly communicate that our members are demanding their support for:

A YES vote on cloture to advance the bill to the floor.

A YES vote on final passage of H.R. 82.

Target Republican Co-Sponsors: (republican Co-sponsor list below)

Focus efforts on Republican Senators who have co-sponsored the Senate version of this bill. Their support is critical to reaching the 60-vote threshold.

Engage Opponents:

If your Senator has previously expressed opposition to this legislation, center your message on the importance of their support for the cloture vote. Advancing the bill to a vote is essential for fairness and justice.

THIS MUST BE DONE IMMEDIATELY. HOURS FROM NOW WILL BE TOO LATE.

Every call, email, and message could be the one that tips the balance in our favor. The voices of our members must be loud, clear, and undeniable in these final critical hours.

Together, we can make history and ensure the Senate takes action to address the injustices caused by the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO).

Act NOW. Time is running out.
