Open Enrollment ends Friday, October 29, 2021. Open Enrollment is the annual period when employees can make changes to their benefit elections. If changes are not entered and saved by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 29th, you will need to wait until next year to make changes to your benefits unless you experience a Qualifying Event.


  • Open Enrollment Checklist

If you haven’t started reviewing Open Enrollment materials, the Open Enrollment Checklist is the place to begin! Review the checklist and be sure to make any changes by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021.


  • Medical Opt-out Credit
    Employees may choose to enroll in the Medical Opt-Out Credit each year by completing enrollment through Employee Self Service (ESS) and submitting proof of your other medical coverage along with the Medical Opt-Out cover form during Open Enrollment. Otherwise, the medical opt-out plan will terminate at the end of the current plan year, you will not have coverage with the County, and you will not receive the credit if the form is not received.


  • Flexible Savings Account (FSA)
    Every plan year, you must designate the amount to be set aside in your FSAs. Up to $550 in unused funds from the previous calendar year will rollover to the new year. Any amount over $550 will be lost if you have not used by December 31, 2021. There will be no grace period.


  • Dependents
    Any new dependents or dependents dropped during the Dependent Verification Audit that need to be reinstated will need to provide the required documentation to verify eligibility. Required documents not submitted in time will result in the loss of coverage for your dependents and no coverage for the new plan year.
