Henry Edmund Anderson
NOVEMBER 19, 1949 – JUNE 19, 2023 : HE WAS BORN TO PARENTS WALTER PATERSON ANDERSON AND ELISE BERTHEAU STILLMAN, ON NOVEMBER 19TH, 1949 IN OAKDALE, LOUISIANA. HENRY GRADUATED FROM PENSACOLA HIGH SCHOOL AND RECEIVED A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN CRIMINOLOGY FROM FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY.
He married Elizabeth Jane Donaldson on October 14th, 1978. Henry is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Jane Anderson, his eldest son Michael Edmund Anderson, spouse Kathleen Dianne Anderson and three grandchildren Emmeline, Everett and Jameson Anderson, youngest son Henry Lee Anderson, spouse Heather Bell Anderson, older brother Walter (Andy) Anderson, spouse Peggy Anderson and his younger brother James (Jim) Anderson, spouse Debra Anderson as well as many nieces and nephews.
Henry served in the United States Army from June 1969 to June 1972. He served one tour in Vietnam from December 1969 to November 1970 and before his Honorable discharge, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in November 1971. Upon his discharge from the Army, Henry was hired as a Prince George’s County Police Office (Badge #741) where he served for 41 years and retired as a Senior First Sergeant. He served many roles for the department from a detective to hostage negotiator. Upon his retirement, he served as adjunct for the American Legion Disney Bell Post 66. Henry was an avid caver and belonged to the Baltimore Grotto. He especially loved spending time with friends and family at his cabin in West Virginia.
The memorial service will be held on July 6th, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm at the Fraternal Order Police Post 89 located at 2905 Old Largo Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.
