Sent on Behalf of Sheriff John D.B. Carr

It is with deep regret, and a heavy heart, that I announce the passing of Corporal Paul Joseph Trainor Jr. ID#593. Corporal Trainor served the Office of the Sheriff for five years, following twenty-three years of service with the Prince George’s County Police Department. Most recently, Corporal Trainor was assigned to the agency’s Special Operations and Training Division, where he took extreme pride in his work as an instructor, and helped to revamp our agency’s training program. Corporal Trainor’s twenty-eight years of law enforcement service to Prince George’s County was commendable, and he will be sorely missed.

I ask that you keep Corporal Trainor’s wife and children in your thoughts and prayers, as they will need all the support we can give them for the foreseeable future. I also ask that you take the time to check on one another during this challenging time, as navigating this loss will require the agency’s collective resilience. The Office of the Sheriff’s Peer Support Group has provided exemplary service to Corporal Trainor’s family and agency employees from the start of this incident, and I am incredibly grateful for their assistance.

We will provide you with details on Corporal Trainor’s services when they become available and, I ask again for you to keep his family in your prayers.
